Error creating new project

stijn Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello I'm trying to create a new project in WinCC 6.2, but everytime I try I get the error message: "The server threw an exception", followed by "Project could not be created". There is always a project created in the directory WinCCprojects, with the same name, but it's impossible to open it. The SQL server is running (for as far as I can see), Simatic Net is installed. I tried to uninstall both WinCC and SQL server and reinstall them, but with no succes, still the same story. Anybody got any suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks in Advance Stijn

stijn Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Which windows version you're running it on? Windows version is Windows XP professional SP2 which other siemens software did you install? I have S7, distributed safety and microwin v4.0. Do you have wincc flex installed also? I used to have WinCCflexible 2007 on it, but I uninstalled it. What I do find interesting is that I read about incompatibility between WinCC and WinCCflex, while my colleague has both software packs running on his PC. Only difference is the PC, he has a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo PC (dual core). Could it have something to do with the hardware? Thanks in advance Stijn

geenid Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	For anyone else who might be looking for an answer: It is possible that you have installed SQL server manually (by yourself). 1) Make absolutely sure the instance of the database is called WINCC. There is no easy way to rename an instance, so you might have to reinstall the RDBMS. 2) You have to have the SQL login/user that WinCC tries to connect as Credentials should be set to: WinCCConnect : 2WSXcder 3) In addition, you must change the SQL server settings so it accepts SQL logins and not just 'Windows' authentication. A convenient way to make the settings is do everything from SSMS (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio). Unfortunately that requires quite some additional software (MS Installer, .NET frameworks, PowerShell etc.) P.S. If you get a weird 'The MUST_CHANGE option is not supported by this version of Microsoft Windows' then modify the options for the new SQL user so it doesn't include the Enforce password policy option.
