Error in faceplate script "The script ... contains an invalid tag reference"

AdiK_NAS Regular Member Joined: 3/26/2020 Last visit: 4/1/2025 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I have created a simple VB script in a faceplate trying to write a value in the only property that the faceplate has. I have used the key shortcut <CTRL + J> to access the property name, thus avoiding any typing errors. When I checked the syntax of the script in the faceplate, no error was found. But, when I tried to compile the project to start the simulation, the system encountered the following error: "The script ... contains an invalid tag reference". The version of TIA Portal that I have installed is 16 update 4. I leave you as an attachment the test project that I have created. So what happened is, you placed the faceplate on the hmi but i guess you didn't link the faceplate's interface with hmi tag that linked to the script. At least that is what happened to me because i placed a few faceplates but didn't link all of them and hence, the error. So when i linked all of them, the error was gone.

Miglans Advanced Member Joined: 12/17/2011 Last visit: 2/12/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I had the same proble. In my case i changed DB in PLC and I forget do "TAGS SYNCHRONIZATION" Press right-click on Tag Hmi and select Synchronization.
