error message "auto start not possible"

how come Posts: 382 Rating: (47)	Hi I am facing a problem with my WinCC system. The project/software runs well for almost 3 years. Till recently when we start to load the program the error message appeared:- " Error c:\data\project backup 170106b\poject backup 170106b.mcp Auto start not possible" Appreciate anyone have any idea what is the cause of this error and how can i solve this problem? I am using windows 2000 SP4 and simatic wincc v6.0 sp2 Thank you! with regards, how come?

Deppends fro SimaticNet version hat you used How do you configure the WinCC Autostart when using SIMATIC NET (2005) or How do you configure the WinCC Autostart when using SIMATIC NET (up to and including CD11/2003 SP1)? how come Posts: 382 Rating: (47)	Dear umencho, Thanks for your reply. I am using the old simatic net v6.2 Cd11/2003. So don't have the auto start feature. Instead i am using the Wincc auto start up [see attach]. It has been working fine all the while. But i don't know why i get this error. Do you have anymoreidea? thanks! howcome? Hi how come?, Can you explain what you mean by "when we start to load the program"? Did you restore an old image of the C: partition? Sometimes it is necessary to reassign the program to autostart. That is, click again on the button "Add to Autostart". Regards

how come Posts: 382 Rating: (47)	Dear Phantom75, Thanks for your reply. "start loading the program" i mean start WinCC. As it was checked as auto start option thus when pc goes into windows enviornment then it will auto start winCC and of couse the simatic station configurator too. Didn't do any cloning. It was a pure set up/installation of os,wincc,etc. It has been working fine for years. The reason why need to shutdown Wincc and pc and restart again is because the operator discover the wincc graphics page freeze [no respones]. Thus he wnated to do a reboot of the system.So after reboot successfully and goes into windows enviornment, the error message appears. I don't know whats worng? I willtry your suggestion to activate the auto start option again. Thanks! with regards, how come?

candyengineer Silver Member Joined: 5/17/2006 Last visit: 2/26/2024 Posts: 218 Rating: (26)	Hello how come? , Some ideas which I 'd tried when I faced the same problem. 1-start "run" from windows programs, type msconfig , remove project name from there. 2-remove your project from autostart - assign that again. 3-Try to uninstall & install simatic .net again. It works for me, maybe it will help, Best regards

I think there are some files corrupt so iuse the WinCC auto start to point to a backup application and it works now.Never the less, i am still very grateful to all of you for helping me.. Thank you very much! PS. hi candyengineer, just curious, where or which tap should i goto to remove the project name in msconfig? Thanks! with regards, how come?
