However always consult the compatibility matrix ( http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21927773) and the Release Notes when designing a WinCC system. Regarding the networking, my guess is that you installed WinCC when logged onto your domain (the manual recommends against this). When you changed from domain to workgroup the group SIMATIC HMI got deleted as it was a domain group, not a local group. I always run WinCC in a workgroup and never have any issues so I can confirm that it will work [:D] You can now either: a) reinstall WinCC OR b)manually create the group SIMATIC HMI and assign users to it Regards, Salma

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (150)	uh-oh, I think I have not explained myself correctly 1) Your window workgroup name can be anything you like - XXX, WORKGROUP, SCADA_NW, etc. 2) OpenControl Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Computer Management Select System Tools-> Local Users & Groups-> Groups You MUST have a group named SIMATIC HMI. Users logged onto that PC that need to run WinCC MUST be a member of the SIMATIC HMI group. I hope this makes it clearer. If not just let m know. Salma
