Hello ssantiago yes it isvia so called Software Redundancy. Agood starting point to find out how it works, what Hard- and Software is required etc. is the SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Software redundancy for SIMATIC S7 manual. I hope this helps |

Hello ssantiago not too sure ifI understand your question correctly, butI'll try to answer what I believe you want to know anyhow: To start with anET200M is a Profibus DP Slave I/O Station, a CPU on the other hand is - well - a CPU. A CPU can however be configured to be a DP Slave (so calledIntelligent Slave or I-Slave) in which case it isalso simplyaProfibus DP Slave I/O Stationas far as its DP Master is concerned. If your question is ifyou canconnectan I-Slave tothe (redundant) Profibus of aSoftware redundancy based DP Master system, then the answer is: NO (Only ET200M's have the ability to have a redundant IM153 based Profibus IM pair. Note too that usage of Y-Links to connect "single" Profibus Slaves is NOT supported by Softwareredundancy, you'd need to use a S7-400 H-system in this case). I hope this helps |

Thats clear. And I have one more question. As far as I understood manual SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Software redundancy for SIMATIC S7 manual both CPUs can run two different programs (they are executed in OB1). They also have redudant part of programs (executes in OB 35). But it is still not clear for me, if I can read information from my ET200 by both of rhem in non-redudant part of programs? |

Allow me to answer that with a return question: Why do you want to do this or why do you need to do this? The ET200M station has a redundant IM and "belongs" to the redundant program. Having said that, I am resonably surethatthe ET200M input status is also up to datein the standby CPUand as such generally availablefor usage (I never tried or tested this thoughand am happy to stand corrected on this one). I hope this helps and should you have a chance to test this, pelase let us know the outcome. |
