What is the best choice for digital input cards of ET200SP?

1) DI 8X24VDC ST  (6ES7131-6BF00-0BA0)

2) DI 16X24VDC ST (6ES7131-6BH00-0BA0)

I have seen that the first has short circuit protection and the second no.

For the first shall i use an external fuse protection for 24 Vdc from pin L+ (9....16) of the card?

For the second i have to use the external 24 Vdc to feed digital input right?

for ET200SP you can get different Moduls, like Basic, Standard, High Feature oder High Speed. Also check this to choose right moduls.

What are the differences between the Basic (BA), Standard (ST), High Feature (HF) and High Speed (HS) modules of the ET 200SP and ET 200MP?

Last days i downloaded manual collection and I read specific informations of cards . I would like to have your opinion about the choice of the first or second card!!!

i think nobody in the forum here, can say what you need without knowing the specific tasks of your system.

Without knowing anything about it, I can only say something like, take the 16DI-card because of more inputs or take the 8DI cards because it is cheaper.

hope you understand what I mean.

you don´t need an external fuse.

and you don´t need an external 24VDC supply. you maybe need some clamps to replicate the L+-Signal of the BaseUnit.

As everyone says, no one can tell what is best for your designs.  For me, I prefer 8 point cards.

1. Wiring is less crowded.
2. Cost is about the same (16 point card is about 2x 8 point card).
3. Only need to keep 1 type of card in stock.

The downside is the increased panel space requirement.

Again, this is not a recommendation for you.  It is only what works for me.

For the 8 DI can i use the L+ (of L+ pin) without over circuit protection for the 24Vdc of Digital inputs or do i have to use the 24Vdc coming from pin 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16?

You don´t have to use the 24V from the pins 9-16. But maybe you need to deactivate some diagnostics.
