Hello lgray66 The Process Image of a315 PN/DP CPU is set to only 128 by default. If you in fact use address "IW 296" in your code you will attempt to read the AI value from the Process Image in that case get nothing (I wonder if your CPU diagnostic buffer would contain access error info though, but haven't really tried this with TIA Portal just yet). Anyway, please check the above and eitherchange your code to acccessPIW 296 (alternatively, add ":P" after theaddress which does the same) OR increase the Process Image of your 315 CPU (to be found in the "cycle" tab of the CPU properties). Below is a link with more info on this subject and while written for the "classic" Step 7 it is also applicable for TIA Portal Step 7. Where and when do you need peripheral addressing?
