ET200SP IO device failure

Hi all,

We've an installation where we control a plant with a 1214 FC and a ET200SP.The installation is running for over a year without any issue. the last 6 months we are facing some issues. The ET200SP lost its connection at some random times. mostly during night (between 10 pm and 6 am ). sometimes is also happens during the day. The 2 main errors we've received are " User data failure of hardware component" and "IO device failure - Watchdog time expired".

I've already increased the Watch dog timer, but it didn't help.

The CPU and ET200SP device are in the same cabinet and are power from the same source/ fuse.In addition there is also a UPS. So I highly doubt it's a power issue.

Hello,

it looks to me in that case (night shift) that some problem with power supply or some interference is cause of this. Place of PN cables with high power cables or similar locations can be also problem. Do simple check and stay there with looking/monitoring to system. Your technicians can also check and help you find problem.

the strange thing about this is that there are no night shift. The plant is just in standby from 6 pm until 5 am in the morning. During daytime it doesn't happens so often. We also have a UPS so if there is a power failure. Also our PLC is in the same cabinet and fed by the same supply/fuse. The PLC never have any problem. So it's so strange to me. We have 2 soft motor starters, but they only operate like 1 hour max a day and during this proces. It never happens. So I'm so confused.

Did you get this problem sorted?  I am having the same issue with the same hardware.  Have increased watchdog cycles already and didnt help.
