Ethernet Communication between 2 414-4H CPUs

S K Rewliya Posts: 13 Rating: (1)	Hi All I m using 414-4 H CPU ,and having two similar H systems. Both the systems are having CP-443-1 I have to communicate between both the H system over Ethernet.I saw the sample example in Step7 Library,but there communication between 2 stand alone CPUs is given not for 2 H systems. Plz help me out asap. regards SKR

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, have you ever tried to set up a "S7 connection fault-tolerant"? This is the Connection to be used to connect or to interconnect H-Systems on S7-Protocol basis. You do not have to use anything else than the BSEND / BRECV Functions you already use. Also PUT / GET are possible... sure... but would this be useful... between H Systems? Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello! A S7 fault tolerant Connection is not useable with AG_SEND / AG_RECV!!!!! For S7 or S7 fault tolerant Connections you need to use BSEND / BRECV , PUT/GET or USEND/URECV to transfer Data. You have to use S7 Functions,as you see above,for this type of Connection... Send / Receive only works with ISO, ISO on TCP, TCP or UDP Connections. Please be aware of this. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear SKR, if the following documents do not help not even I can help you: How do you program communication blocks FB12 "BSEND" and FB13 "BRCV" for data exchange on the S7-300? Just be aware that the BSEND / BRCV Functions on the S7-400 are SFBs, not FBs. S7 Communication with BSEND/BRECEIVE via PROFIBUS CPs PROFIBUS behaves just like Ethernet so no problem. Programming an S7 Communication between two CPU modules for STEP 7 and CFC Best regards J_Bell
