Ethernet connection to PLC..Help needed

rewa Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Hii all, First let me say about my PG device, 1. Iam working on an XP virtual machine (Oracle Virtual box), on the windows 7 host system. Iam having Step7 in guest OS. 2. Iam trying to connect from guest OS to PLC through ethernet via a Siemens Scalance unmanaged gateway. 3. I have set all the addresses in connectivity and now I feel my connection is OK, but a error called 33:16656 is coming. 4. In PG/PC interface my configuration is shown in the attachment. 5. When I go online, my blocks are not visible. and CPU is shown as masked. as in the attachment. 6. Also, Iam unable to ping the IP of CPU from XP, it says "request time out" What might be the problem, that I can't get the CPU online..? All helps appreciated. Thanks, ~~Rewa~~

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	first things first can you ping anything else ? how did you download the hardware configuration to the plc? are the plc's on the same network with the same subnet mask?

rewa Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Hi playerslight, The basic programming was done by another person, he gave me the same program back-up and Iam trying with it, so the hardware configurations are already downloaded before. I can't ping any addresses, but through step7 Iam possible to display accessible nodes, which means connections are OK, r8...? Pardon me, if Iam saying any wrong, as Iam not much experienced in this. Request your valuable suggestions. Thanks, ~~REWA~~ Learning makes everyone strong...............
