Žak_CM Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello! Can sameone tell me how can I digital outputs send through ethernet? i have 16 digital outputs from I4.0 to I4.7 and I5.0 to I5.7. Also I have CPU315-2 PN/DP? It has 2 ethernet port, one is for connect my laptop to PLC and one is for send data (digital outputs). I am programing in SIMATIC Step7 V5.5. Thanks in advance.

Hello Žak_CM; Most industrial protocols I work with do not allow the transfer of single bits over a network, generally they start transfers at a Word/Int range of 16 bits. Modbus is an exception. In your case, you could simply transfer IW4 (contains bytes IB4 and IB5, or bits I4.0 to I4.7 and I5.0 to I5.7), and decode the bits in your recieving communication partner. If your bits are not contiguous, you could copy their values to a MW_ or a DB word, so you could build an intermediate register and transmit that register over Ethernet.
