EV_ID of Alarm_8P

Basically i have configured Alarm_8p in my customized block as default below [code] Call Alarm_8P EV_ID := #EV_ID [/code] and todays when i have some examples and i have found that below and i have no idea of that EV_ID := DW#16#5 ???? [code]Call Alarm_8P EV_ID := DW#16#5[/code] My question is can anybody help me out this meanings or point me out any document about this EV_ID. Many Thanks and hope to understand newbies question.

Because Help on ALARM_8P says: STEP 7 assigns the message number automatically to ensure consistency of the message numbers. The message numbers within a user program must be unique. Example of your EV_ID Input declaration: EV_ID { S7_visible := 'false'; S7_param := 'false'; S7_link := 'false'; S7_server := 'alarm_archiv'; S7_a_type := 'alarm_8p' }: DWORD := DW#16#FF;

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, in PCS 7 you never create EV_ID by your own. If you call a ALARM_8P block inside an other block you have to do following: You have to create inputs for each ALARM_8P you are calling inside your own block. You have to give some relevant S7 attributes to those inputs. When you are calling the ALARM8P block inside, assing the input to the parameter EV_ID. When you are compiling the CFC programm, the compiler will write the correct EV_ID to those Inputs and the ALARM8P will be called with the correct, automatically created EV_ID.
