Let say, I want to write a 50 bytes to Raw Data that is composed by 10 Integers, 5 Floats and10 Bytes ? Thanks!

Like this: unsigned char RawData[11]; GetTagRaw("YourTagName", RawData, 10); printf("%d\r\n", RawData[1]); printf("%d\r\n", RawData[2]); printf("%d\r\n", RawData[3]); ... And unsigned char RawData[11]; RawData[1] = 34; RawData[2] = 94; RawData[3] = 14; ... SetTagRaw("YourTagName", RawData, 10); The difficult part is to compose (or read) the byte vectors with another kinds of data. Words and Double Words are piece of cake (I believe), but floats... We'll have to spendfewbrains on that, but it is possible, for sure! I ask you to try and if it comes very hard just tell me,'cos I don't have it pronto! Best Regards, Dimitri.

Neto Experienced Member Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 10/15/2024 Posts: 47 Rating: (5)	Hi, I tried to use the RawData with BYTE variable and I had no problem, but to use with FLOAT must have some trick in C code to handle the pointers, once that the function SetTagRaw requires a BYTE* pValue. I was thinking to use something like: float myValues[10]; float pFloat; BYTE pByte=pFloat;** pFloat=myValues; I didn't have the chance to try yet, but any help would be appreciated.

DimiCamp Posts: 168 Rating: (49)	Hey Nemo, hardware is cheap. Licences upgrade aren't. Go on Neto! I encourage you. Multiplex your commands, getyour device status as bytes (only spreadthem in C-script animation), Not even a boolean tag in the whole project!

But anyway, what do you mean with too many variables? Is there a limit to read/write RawData? Is it okay to read/write 500 bytes of data every2 minutes? Thanks for your reply!
