example image won't boot

hi guys, 

i have an iot2050 basic

flashed the example image onto a microsd memory card and validated it's not corrupt

but the iot 2050 won't boot the OS, (stat light stays solid red)

have tried reflashing the image a couple of times

any ideas?

What size sd card are you using?
I had this problem because despite the card 
appearing to be the same size it was slightly smaller.
Try using a larger card.

Which versions of the example image did you try? If you are unlucky, you got a device with older firmware than the latest image supports. Then you need to follow https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/posts/firmware-upate-to-use-example-image-v1-2-1/275777/?page=0&pageSize=10 first.

If that does not help, please attach a UART-USB cable (like used for Raspis as well) to X17 and report what the device prints during power-up.

after looking into the manual for the firmware update is says that the example image v1.1.1 is required before the firmware update is possible 

however i currently cannot load the example image
