This onecrashes at Fig 4 code row with theSet MyOPCItems(i) = MyOPCGroup.OPCItems.AddItem The crash message (attached image) says:The method 'AddItem' in the object 'OPCItems' failed. Any idea how to solve this? Im currently trying this way to setup a test case for a customer, which later will use the opc connection to a AST-310SY viscosity controller with a built in OPC-server. Though before you can actually use the excel file, you need to make it costum for your application. When working with VBA a minor error in one of the cells will result in such a error message. The error mentioned in your case is probably caused by the ItmeID's in the list, which are not know by your OPC.SiamticNET OPC server. You need to make sure that these texts match the string of your tags in the OPC server. When installing SimaticNET this will also install theOPC Scout (OPC client). With this tool you can monitor the required tags, but also verify there string. From here you could take over the required string and use the exact same within your excel sheet. Regards, Joost

Michael K Gold Member Joined: 9/3/2008 Last visit: 3/20/2025 Posts: 933 Rating: (164)	Hi, In the excel cell, the address of the item says "S7:[OPC1]DB 1,INT0" This means that in the Simatic Net OPC configuration you need to have a connection called "OPC1" and in the plc you need to have a DB1 with at least one word (an INT). I notice that the address says "DB 1" ( DB<space>1 ). I believe the space will cause an error so try to remove the space and see if it helps. So the address should be "S7:[OPC1]DB1,INT0"
