I am a bit confused with the possibilities of the s7 1500 for exchanging datas compared to s7 300/400.

For my project, I would like to exchange datas between two s7-1500. For the time being, the datas to be exchanged are stored within DBs that contains complex datas (udts) and that are parametrized as optimized that means that have no adress.

To me, the classical PUT/GET can't be used directly as this block needs absolute adresses. (or at least it's what I understood)

Is there some built-in functionnalities to access "optimized" datas remotely ?

I recommend you look at the article and library.
Basic Examples for Open User Communication (OUC)


Do not use PUT and GET; these require non-optimized structures. Open User Communication can handle optimized data. "TCP" is even more effective than PUT/GET. The balancing negative is that communications is managed from both PLCs.

There is code that needs to be placed on the server and client sides. The available library (linked above) covers what you need. I have used those earlier this year on a networked system - there is no issue I know of.
