Just use a flag M 2000.0 somewhere in the program, then the cross reference will exand to MB2000 by itself. No need to adjust it manually.

Hi IBN-Service thank you very much i got your point. just for my knowledge purpose iam askinking this here i attached 4 photo snap plz check it. in M1 snap that is previous project referance data.in the second snap what iam calling the address bit byte,word MB QB IB etc that is updating in the referance data table ok.in the third snap once i created the network and asigned the adress MB,QB IB's it will update in referance data table. you clearly mentioned that above automatically last used adress. NO need to adjust manually. so my question is.there depends on memorycard or plc memory. whynot to take the byte or bit memory before creating the programm. so wht is the limitation was red DB,FB,FC are having thae limitation 0 to 65, 365numbers but not sure.so here is also any limitation or restriction.. its for my knowledge..purpose. regards algudkar Attachment memory.zip (43 Downloads)

So it shows the varible used in the logic only and that is the reason IBN asked your to use M2000 in your logic. The maximum number of Memory variable is depend on th CPU you and that can be identified from the CPU Specification or If your are online with the CPU, Right Click the CPU in Simatic Manager => PLC => Module Information => Select Perfromence Data Tab => You can see the Bit Memory Range under the Address Area table.

I dont know if I understand your question correctly, lets have a try: XREF will show you the operands that are used in the program on Hadddisk. The XREF do not allocate some memory but only show you what is already in use. If you like to "mark" some signals bevore, you can use the symbol list. But also a symbol will not be in XREF until you use it in the program. Limitation of Operands and blocks: The limitation of number and amount of operands and blocks is depending from CPU. Older, smaler CPU i.e. can do 0..128 MB and 0..128 FC/FB/DB Newer CPU cando 0...2000MB and 0..2000 FC/FB/DB But XREF and also Step7 do not validate that you use the correct number! If you use a number that is too high, you will get NO notice until you try to load the progam into the PLC! (sad but true) So you have to check the maximum number that is allowed for your CPU before do the program by checking the operation list "OL" for that CPU.
