" we need some more information? 1. Platform: which simotion do you use ? --> 2. where should the external encoder be connect? (DriveCliq; PROFINET; onboard ...?) 3. using DSC? (when using DSC --> AxisConfiguration Data must be set --> encoder DSC ?) If we got some more information, Iwill send you example-Program or Information with screenshoots from necessary configuration. Anchobi Posts: 139 Rating: (25)	Hi Maddy I could be mistaken but a place where you might be getting stuck is in setting up your drive. If you dont specify a motion control specific message frame in drive communications you may not get the option you are looking for. So if you havent already, go into your drive communications and select Siemens telegram 106 This is actually the message frame that sends encoder_2 to the simotion interface. You can verify thisin your axis configuraiton wizard, select change profibus message frame and then select the options for your set up. eg. 2. encoder.
