I am trying to set up an EZmarqee with a Siemens ET200sp CPU, CM profibus and TIA v13.

Using the DPWR communication block, it has an error of 8090.

The hardware identifier is correct. I am trying to send simple integers for now,

But would like to send ascii strings to display machine status.

Is there a better way of doing this? Profinet? Examples would be great!

but sry don't understand your question about ASCII, if you have defined some Exchange buffer with Profibus connection, that buffer consist of BYTE defined structure, isn't it? In this case I don't see problem fill this buffer with hex/char representation of your 'text', everytime this must be interpreted as BYTE from basic. Am I not understand something? Why you think about Profinet in this case, this not solve your ASCII problem, protocols and media not solve your problem. Can you post better info what you want to do, what you have now implemented? You must probably also with your INT, define BYTE buffer because you need also Exchange ASCII chars.
