I have F-DQ. Could someone explain to me how dark, switch on and light test proceed? And what are the reasons for using them?

I have used before light test for F-DQ,

It was not for 1500 modules but I think it has the same concept

I was connecting the F-DQ channels to relays

This feature passes very small current from the DQ channel to the connected load when the output is inactive , the value of the current will not able to energize the coil but it makes it sure to the module that this channel is connected and there is no wire break for this output (you will find the lamp of the relay blinking in very high speed with dimmed light)

If this feature is disabled the wire break will be detected during True Output only

These F-DQ modules are used in critical Safety applications where in case of any operations abnormality safe shutdown takes place leaving EHS conditions to a safe limit. These tests are complete bit pattern tests and  can be performed automatically @ a predefined time interval, to check any short or open circuits in the load connected, to determine whether operating point is shifted or any excessive current consumption of connected loads etc. If channel draws more or less current during this test it indicates by passivating the particular  channel.
