I use this kind of solution if i have many objects that i want to view data from. Made one example project with 5 engines to show information on 1 faceplate.

Made in TIA Portal V15 Update 2.

The idea is good, however I think it can be modified to include the popup also.

In the same way the information about the current index was updated in a central hmi variable, all relevant udt members could be written in the same function list by multiple SetTag functions.

As a last function you can add a "ShowPopup" function that uses these central variables.

This is OK as long as you only want to view information and not modify it.

I've also tried using a valve array of UDT as a multiplexed tag (even if I dont really like this solution, beacause when you have like 100 or more valve, you made plc code less readle i think), but i can't get it working. How can i assign the value of the index each time differently from the same faceplate? Maybe I'm missing something here?

Is there a way to dinamize the same popup from the faceplate? Or do you have other idea solution to do the same job?

Any options and suggestions are welcome.

  Multiplexing is a good solution for your application and I personally find it clear and readable.

What problems did you have applying that option?

What is your HMI and what is the firmware version?

multiplexing is indeed the best way to go I believe.

These are the issues i'm facing with multiplexing tags.

1. If  I am using popup for my face plate, I can open only one face plate at a time. Opening more than one face plate at a time is not possible.

2. I have to keep all the data related to the valves or transmitters in the  same data block. But, I'm using FB blocks for my valve control. So I have separate data block for each valve.

3. I'm using Simatic Manager for my PLC programming. So, to bring the valve details in the same tag, I created one HMI UDT. And that is not supported in multiplexing. Multiplexing is disabled for HMI UDT's.

1. Probably correct, why do you want to open more then one at a time though. If that is the case multiple face plates might be the only solution.

2. I understand your issue but you can make an extra DB filled with UDT's which hold the data for a valve you need on the HMI. You do this for every valve and then you can use multiplexing.

3. I'm using TIA Portal V15 to do this and I use the method as in answer 2 so I'm not sure how to help you there. But I think if you do it like answer 2 you don't need this step.
