FB 230 in Step 5

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how FB230 in Step5 works? when i am converting a S5 program the equivalent in Step 7 is FC91. But in FC 91, the  Word to be moved either left of right is first written in DW 4. when it recieves positive edge at SR input. Can anyone help me in understanding FB230.

we need more infos for your help. Which S5 CPU line was used ? S5 100, 115, 135 or 155 and which model of CPU.

I'm sorry but I can not find any information that the FB230 would have some system function for the S5 CPU103.

Usually I guess FB230 is used as Shift Word Function. Either Shift left or right. Any idea or any help of it available.

I am attaching the network where FB230 is called. I cannot edit or open FB230 itself as it says that it is protected block in Step 5.

In my opinion, this FB230 is not a Siemens function block but a function block created by the programmer of the program.

Since the programmer has protected this, you have no legal opportunity to open this function block.

FB230 is a Siemens Function Block.

Please open the S5 to S7 Library in Step 7. There is the FB230 you are looking for already converted to S7 for you.

Click on the Block and press F1 and it will show you the help file with the explanation of FB230.

I know that there is FC91 equivalent to FB230 in Step 7. My question is, in FC91, when there is positive edge at SR input, it puts the data into DW4 of the relevant DB. is it the same function in Step 5 as well. 

If someone can provide me the help on FB230, i will be much thankful, i know it is siemens block and it has even a Block number as well.
