Hi, that is easy. If you followed your other question carefully ( https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/ww/en/posts/41xf-and-41xfh-what-s-the-difference/160714/?page=0&pageSize=10 ) you now know that this CPU is not released for the use with F-systems for PCS 7. Only FH CPU is allowed to be used in this configuration. I find it really interesting that compiling of the HW configuration and CFC does not throw any warning or error. Regards |

Hi, yes there is a documentation about this. It is called released modules for each PCS 7 version. For PCS 7 V8.2 as example you can find it there: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109736547 Any module not listed there may not be used with PCS 7. Regards EDIT: As you may know in Siemens there are two different ways for safety programming.
Each of these systems use its own hardware. For a fast introduction see the following manual: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/12490443 Following note was taken from the mentioned manual (quite a little old, not all CPU inside but in total very understandable): Note You can use the following F-CPUs in S7 Distributed Safety: IM 151-7 F-CPU, IM 151-8F PN/DP CPU, CPU 315F-2 DP, CPU 315F-2 PN/DP, CPU 317F-2 DP, CPU 317F-2 PN/DP, CPU 319F-3 PN/DP, CPU 416F-2, and CPU 416F-3 PN/DP. Note that these F-CPUs can not be used in S7 F/FH systems. You can use the following F-CPUs in S7 F/FH Systems: CPU 412-3H, CPU 414-4H, and CPU 417-4H. Note that these F-CPUs can not be used in S7 Distributed Safety. |

Hi andr11, yes you may use 414-5H if your program will fit to the memory of the controller. Otherwise you have to go with 416-5H. For PCS 7 I would recommend to use 410-5H because this controller is scalable and you do not have to know the final size of your program in advance. You can increase the amount of PO that can be downloaded to this CPU in steps of 100 PO. So you have ONE controller for any size of program you want to download. No need for hard decisions which may be the correct controller. Keep in mind: 410-5H can only be used with PCS 7. More info: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/74736822 Regards |
