Hi,

I'd like to know if it's possible tu implement FETCH/WRITE communication with put/get, or something similar. If not please explain to me what should I use. Also I'd like to know is it sufficient to have cpu (my case 317 - 2PN/DP) or do I need some other module.

I use TIA V13 SP1. 

Regarding the use case, I need to interface a simulator called Experior (Xcelgo) with Siemens CPU in order to validate PLC code. So in Experior I have the 3D model of machine and in Siemens I have a code that I've been writing for a while. 

Now, good people form Xcelgo has developed a ready-to-use communication module for interfacing Experior with Siemens, Rockwell via Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, Modbus etc..

For interfacing with Siemens, in Experior there are two communication blocks Fetch/Write, see picture. Because of the fact that Fetch/Write is TCP/IP based, I assume (perhaps wrongly) that i have to implement something similar in Siemens CPU. What should I do?

have a look in communication-instructions under open user communication. 

I guess the last two blocks are the kind of blocks you need. 

they are called FW_TCP(Fetch Write over TCP) and FW_IOT(Fetch Write over ISO on TCP)

still i have one more question to ask. In order to test the communication before connecting it directly to the simulation what can I do? Is there any kind of terminal, like TCP client/server or something like this? What would you suggest me to do?

if you can, use simple HyperTerminal, it can be used as Serial or Ethernet application.

things didn't go as I expected... I'm having some trouble configuring FW_TCP fb...

1. I'm no sure that I'm calling it correctly (PIC 1). It this enough? Did i miss something?

2. What should CONNECT pointer type Any has to point to the where? From help: "ANY pointer to the data area of DB211 that contains the parameters for establishing the TCP connection. This data area must be at least 64 bytes in size.". To be honest I didn't understand a thing... (PIC 2)

3. This might be related to the 2. but where do I specify which data FW_TCP should read and where to write fetched data?

If you have any kind of a working example, it should be of a great help. Anyway, thank you all in advance!
