Hello Nareshkumar; First, on the Modbus side, the Modbus master driver developped by Siemens has some limitations. From the Modbus master Manual: With this driver, it is possible to use the RS422/485 (X27) interface submodule in both 2-wire operation and 4-wire operation. In 2-wire operation it is possible to connect up to 32 slaves to one master in half-duplex operation, thus creating a multipoint connection (network).
If you already had a Profibus-DP network, anpther oprtion (and cheaper, a;though you would still need 3 master modules) would be to use an ET 200S Modbus master in the form of a 1SI module:
Second, it is well to speak of fiber optic connections, but that only indicates the type of physical support you intend to use between the S7-400 and whatever you wish to connect to. You must be a lot more specific on the networks and protopcols you want to use over F.O. For example, Siemens supports Profibus-DP, Industrial Ethernet, Modbus/TCP...over F.O. Other protocols could be available through some sort of gateway. But you must provide a lot more information if you need help./ Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi, which CP do you want to use? CP443-1 or another CP? For TCP you can use "OpenModbusTCP". Tomcat |
