Field PG M5 connection with S5 PLC through AS511 interface..

Dear experts!

I have a Field PG M5, and I wanna connect with S5 PLC through AS511 interface..

Now I have RS-232 to TTY cable but I don´t have installed Step 5 software on my physical machine.. 

I´m trying with a virtual machine (VM Ware) with windows XP and step 5 (that is because my PG has Windows 7 by default and the pages of Siemens says that Step 5 only has compatibility with Windows XP SP3).

Can you advise me how I may do it? 

I was configuring a serial port at the virtual machine (baudrate, COM, etc.) but the Step 5 software can´t to go online..

I use VMware machine WinXp SP3 for Step5 with this S5 USB cable without problems.

Which cable do you use? Standard COM cable 9pin <=> 15pin?

Did you install another Siemens SW in your WinXP machine?
