FIFO for S7-300

R & D Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi How do i make af Fifo in my S7-300 PLC. I have tryed with the FC84 and FC 85, without result. Can any boddy help me. I need to trace a product on from a cammera, i have 4 different types of products.I need to have 6 product in my buffer. Best regards Carsten

Best regards Carsten Hello, Please read carefully the help info of FC85 (FIFO) function. Note that the first entry in the table is the table length, second entry is the no. of entries, and data will be stored from third entry. Please see the examples in the help file before and after execution of FIFO function. Hope this helps.

Amir Tamboli Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	It is Very easy to use FIFO , To FIFO u need to use ATT table as FC84 and FIFO Block as FC85, In FC 84 u will get Three IN as Enable for To Activate the Table , don't forget to activate it by Pulse, Data IN as to add the Data in Table and Table address to that u going to use it for Filling , Table always Initiate with Table Length , Table entries and Then Ur Slots for Data Insertion corresponding to Ur Length, IN FC 85 as ur operating it as to Remove the data from Table that u have defined in FC 84 in FIFO Way, It has Enable Bit same as that of ATT and Table Address and OUT Ret_Val As ur Out Value From Table . Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 5/25/2023 Posts: 1505 Rating: (388)	Hi Use Array and pointer Buffer: Array[0..Len-1] of Type Pointer : Int; INIT: Pointer:=0; Fill Array with 0s New FIFO Element: Output := Buffer[Pointer]; Buffer[Pointer]:=New_Value; Pointer:=Pointer+1; if (Pointer>=Len) Pointer=0 where Len = length of your fifo Array holds elements Pointer shows which element is oldest and will be replaced. in S7-300 you will need use indirect addressing. in s7-1200/1500 you can access array[pointer] direcrly.
