In the second loop executes GetTagRawWait(nomdb...) 158 times and inside the loop SetTagMultiWait / GetTagMultiWait9954 times !!! Lots of bus traffic [:o]; Not counting i/o file operations (fseek, fwrite). Does yourPLC calculate / return some values between SetTagMultiWaitand GetTagMultiWait in tags nomcompte(Compt_xx) and nomseconde(Sec_xx)? How do you know that return values are processed yet by the PLC? Communication task is independent from OBs tasks? Do you have any handshake? But still why is not consistent (in time) the execution? Can you run Apdiagnose and enable profiling; Also see if you have any GP faults. I will try the script soon; I am curious where the bottleneck is [8)]. Dec P.S. WinCC QA team, get this script and include in C Script crash test case [:)] this is a good one. In my previous live when I used to work for a big SCADA software company in California (Irvine Lake Forest) we used to run some customers unique applications and ensure it passes all the tests.

Reuben Posts: 70 Rating: (13)	Hi You are iterating across what looks like64+ values in 225 DBs. What we don't see is how often you are calling this script. If it is calledonce a day, it might not be so bad. If you are calling this thing often, I would expect it to have nasty results on theresponsiveness ofthe WinCCgraphics interface (WinCC hanging while waiting for the script to finish - I always assumed thatglobal scripts and scripts in the graphics interface ran in different threads but a recent project shows this is not true). Often we say to add the tags you use in your script to tag logging so you don't have to use GetTagWaitxxx, but in this case you are simply using too many tags. I am busy with a project right now where basically the same code is running on two different sites with different behaviour. I also have a lot of GetTagWait code, but on one system it is fast (order 1s) and the other slow (order 1minute). Both machines are using Windows Server 2003 Standard on TCP/IP to an S7-315-2DP. Exchanging the code from GetTagWaitXXX to GetTagXXX has no effect (maybe the behaviour is different with S7-400?)- I also read somewhere that once you use the GetTagWait function in script that tag is automatically queued at a 1s update (experts please verify!). The one machine has Simatic NET installed (the fast one) using softnet TCP/IP, the other just using native Step7/WinCC (no Simatic NET) - maybe this has an effect? If there is an interruption in the TCP/IP link, the script will actually seem to "run faster" as the tag fetching is skipped (but obviously won't use valid data). It also doesn't look like putting any of this code into the PLC will help as you still need to dump the data to the disk files. Usually when a piece of code takes longer and longer to run it is because the data it is working on is getting bigger and bigger. Maybe your code will work better without all the "seek"ing - you could use a local struct to store all the data then write the entire struct in one go, instead of writing each value and seeking through the file. If you write all the data sequentially you won't need to do any seeking. Having said that, my guess is that this is not the bottleneck, probably all the GetTagWaits.
