Filter alarms by user

GoForIT Posts: 352 Rating: (7)	Hi, I've setup WinCC with basic porcess control. Each user have access to on or more areas (ref. user administration). I have made a column in the alarm logging called 'Area'. Is there a way to filter the alarmlist based on this area without making changes in the sql filter in each alarm control?? O

cumulus Platinum Member Joined: 9/27/2007 Last visit: 12/18/2020 Posts: 993 Rating: (103)	Hello GoFotIT When you use WinCC AlarmContol in this pictures, you can create for each picture an own selection of the alarms. open the konfiguration-dialog of the AlarmControl and in the register "Message lists". Klick on the button "Selection..."(WinCC 6.x) or "Edit..." by Selection. There you can configure or each picture an other Selection "area". If that not helps, tell me. regards cumulus

I want to make this selection dynamic based on the logged on user and the areas that he/she is authorized to use. (@AlarmOneLine.pdl) I want to show only those messages in the area where the user has authorization. o

If you want to use only standard, then proceed like this: In "OS-Project editor" select tab "Message Display" in area "Message filter" select "Messages with area enable" Configured Area in alarm logging should be "user text block 2" Then it will just work. //P

"Configured Area in alarm logging should be "user text block 2" - do you mean area name from the PCS7 plant view, so i have write "OS area" manually in CFC, and filter messages by this? Thanks.
