Filter "general interrogation" events out of WinCC event list

xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi, Is it possible to remove events from the WinCC event list which are caused by "general interrogation"? I'm working on an SICAM PAS / WINCC-PASCC installation with 150 15kV Siprotec bays connected to 3 full servers which each take about 1/3 of the load. At the moment, the 1000-line event list is constantly being filled with "general interrogation" events, which makes it difficult to see the more important events. So, at least temporarily, I want to have an (additional) event list which doesn't show messages with cause=general interrogation. Side question: the fact that the event list is constantly getting filled with "general interrogation"events, is this a definite sign of communication problems on the network, or is there a bug in WinCC (6.0)/PAS CC (5.11) which is causing this? I've heard rumours that is a hotfix for similar behaviour of WinCC... I've searched the existing threads and support forum, but didn't quite find a suitable answer. I've already implemented the "CheckBox message list filter" control from the PASCC project Library, with which you can choose not to display messages when the validity changes. But this selection is too crude. I just want to filter "general interogation" and possible "not topical" out. I was thinking about modifying the sql string wich controls the vent list, but don't what attribute of the message to filter out. Thanks in advance... I'd like to know if anyone has had the problem with the "general interrogation" events filling the event list... Xenonn

xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	WinCC 6.2 is not an option right now. We are running WinCC 6.0 and I don't think the client wants to pay for an upgrade to 6.2. I was thinking about modifying the MsgFilterSQL attribute ofthe alarm control. It's now defined as: CLASS IN(1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18) AND TYPE IN(1, 2, 3, 161, 177, 193, 194, 195, 209, 210, 211, 225, 241, 257, 258, 273, 274) AND STATE IN(1, 2) AND PVALUE9 >= 0 AND PVALUE9 <= 65535 I "feel" that there's a way to filter "cause=general interrogation" out by adding constraints for an additional field, but I don't know which field and the constraints to set for it... The constraint is probably something like "UNKNOWN_FIELD<>INTEGER"

You could lock the messages you don't wish to see, maybe even upon system startup. I know it would be a workaround, rather than a solution, but still... Best regards, Danielle

xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi Danielle, Some Siprotecs on our network seem to loose the connection to the PAS servers / WinCC. First, their alarms/events get the status "not topical". Then, when the connection is reestablished, all alarms/events from those Siprotecs are queried,and they all appear with cause=general interrogation. We are running diagnostics on the network, but in the meantime, I want to filter these "general interrogation" events out so that they don't fill the entire WinCC event list. So it's not about individual alarms/events, because they all get queried after connection loss... It's about filtering the event list so that events with cause="not topical" / "general interrogation" are not shown temporarily... I don't exactly understand what you mean by "locking" the alarms by the way. Thanks, Xenonn

Except for SOE, all the messages of the station suffer a process similar to GI in WINCC-PASCC (see the posts below). I sincerely think that has to happen even, to guarantee the message in the list, but if its messages are not topical, the problem is another, because the siprotec/SICAM-PAS is invalidating the message, not WinCC. But if in its system, exists a column (a user text block of Alarm Logging), with status of message (not topical), you can filter the message that will be showed in WinCC Runtime. /tf/WW/en/Posts/5767 /tf/WW/en/Posts/7610 I hope to have helped, but I.m not specialist in WINCC-PASCC.

sandromig Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hy Xenonn I think it´s not possible to remove because the general interrogation is made by the PAS station unit. I´m having lots of problems with that situation but one the problem is with the network. If you use ruggedcom switches you have to make a good configuration of the network and priorities of switches. For some reason the link between the PAS and the Siprotec devices breaks down and the PAS make a General interrogation to the device. If using ruggedcom switches try to get support from them!

In newer versions from Sicam PAS CC (I'm not sure which one), there is a filter incorporated in Sicam library in WinCC, which can filter general interrogation events and other informations.
