Find option in TIA Wincc RT advance

Dear Experts,

I am using an application where i have configured a screen with PDF.

the pdf is of fault manual of sinamics g120,

i want to put find function here,i.e if a perticular fault occurs client just types the fault number and it automatically appears there.just like in normal pdf

can we provide this functionality..

please advice

there is no "search / find" function available with this PDF viewer.

I have a solution for your case, but it needs some scripting.

• Add an I/O field where the user can input the error number.
• Add a script "SearchPDF" to the event "Input finished" of the I/O field.
  The script has to select the page where the error is described.
• You can use the system function "PDFGotoPage" to go to a certain page number in the PDF.
  Put this function on a button you use to acqnowldege the input of the error number, name it something like "OK" or "search". Use a tag "TagPageNumber" for the parameter "side".

In this case you have about 90 pages of error codes, with 2 to 5 error codes per page.

You can use a case-function in the script "PDFGotoPage":

Select Case SmartTags("TagErrorNumber")

Case 1000-1002 
          SmartTags("TagPageNumber") = 529

Case 1003-1005
          SmartTags("TagPageNumber") = 530

Case 1009-1010,1015-1017
          SmartTags("TagPageNumber") = 531

...

          SmartTags("TagPageNumber") = 616

Case Else
         --> Message "Error not found"

End Select

 Of course it's a bit of work and only a "stupid list" but it should work well enough.

(Better than creating 400 small PDF files named like the error description they contain.)
