Firmware update only possible with memory card?

I'm New in TIA & 1200 and want to ask is only possible to update firmware via 24 MB memory card? i have 214-1BE30-0XB0 with v1.0 firmware and when i trying to add new block with SCL then found out not possible with V1.0. Please advise if any other method as currently memory card is not in hand but i do have S7-300 series 8MB MMC card. As always, appreciated your advices in advance.

Hello C.kt for this order number using MC 24MB is the only way. butinFW3.0 (or higher) you can upgradthe firmware version withwebserver .

It may be faster to expedite the delivery of your memory card, or purchase a newer plc with firmware 3.0.

In order to check firmware version of S7-1200 connect online to your PLC and click to "Online & Diagnosis". There you'll find actual FW of your device. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev
