For example, version 1.81.03 is known as FS:06, but version 1.82.02 is known as FS:02. Why a higher version number has a lower FS:0x version? What means letters FS anyway? Can someone explain me the whole logic behind the relation between LOGO! BM version, LSC version, firmware version and FS:0x version? Sorry my bad english. Thanks!

FS is the German abbreviation for production status (FS = Fertigungsstand). Why can you not download any programs into your new LOGO! 8? Normally begins a new series of LOGO! with the production status FS01. Until the LOGO! 0BA8 of the first generation was still the same. The 0BA8 of the first generation (LOGO!8.0, Release 09.2014) is a 0BA8 standard as hardware in the LSC device selection. They are available with production statuses FS01-FS03, the firmware versions are V1.08.01 to V1.08.03. A firmware update was not possible. The LSC version was V8.0. Then, in October 2016, the second generation 0BA8, called LOGO!8.1, appeared. It still had the same order numbers as the 0BA8 of the first generation, but the hardware in the LSC device selection is a LOGO!8.FS4. The LSC version was V8.1. The production statuses were FS04 to FS06. Here was the break with the numbering of the production status. According to the previous regulation it should have been FS01-FS03. The numbering of the firmware versions was as by the old system. The versions are V1.81.01 (FS04) to V1.81.03 (FS06). A firmware update has been possible since LOGO!8.1. The current LOGO!8.2 was published in October 2017. The order numbers have now been changed. In the case of the first and second generation LOGO!s, the order number ended with 0BA8. In the case of LOGO!8.2, the order numbers end with 08-0BA0. The old system was reintroduced for the production statuses, and they started again with FS01. The firmware versions are V1.82.01 (FS01) and V1.82.02 (FS02). The LSC version was V8.2 for FS01 and is now V8.2.1 for FS02. To complete the chaos with the firmware versions, there are now also security firmware updates for LOGO!8.1 and LOGO!8.2. Product information on the firmware update for LOGO! 8 for security Vulnerability CVE-2020-7593 The new, upcoming LOGO!8.3 should first be presented at a trade fair in autumn 2019. Then the performance date was postponed to April 2020 (Hannover Messe). However, since the Hannover Messe was canceled due to COVID-19, this was also omitted. I guess that not even people in SITRAIN would explain it better. Siemens may sometimes makes one thing or another confusing a little, but is by FAR my favorite brand and everytime that I can apply their products in my projects I'll do so. Best regards from Brazil.

LOGO!8.0 FS01 (fw v1.08.01) we can do nothing to protect the devices from the following vulnerabilities: CVE-2019-10919 – Missing authentication for critical functions (getting profile information containing sensitive data such as different configured passwords, setting passwords) which could allow the attacker to perform device reconfigurations and obtain project files. CVE-2019-10920 – Use of hard-coded cryptographic key (the aforementioned configured passwords are, for example, encrypted with it). This conversation can go on and on and on. Just found it useful to notify more FS01-FS03 users through this topic. Thank you very much for the explanation of Siemens nomenclature and upgradeability.
