First commision

hello guys

I have a problem connecting to a new cpu for downloading the HW to it for the first time

with existing cpu's i have no issue connecting and editing downloading at all...

only at first commisioning, when the cpu doesnt have anything on and is empty... I cant even

find it on the network... ive changed my adapter settings for LAN to autodetect also to try but

no luck... when i change it to the IP range of existing CPU's I can connect with no issues as stated...

what am I missing?

also i made a memory reset unplugged all extra connections... only my pc is connected to the CPU port... even when I plug directly into any device I cant see them on the network either

Check if You have Your PG/PC interface set up correctly

Searching for PLC by edit ethernet node also doesnt work?

Can you give more information about your configuration? What CPU? Do you have a communication proccessor like CP443 for ex? If yes you can use the ISO protocol with the help of the MAC address of the CP. Or if your CPU has Ethernet communication is the same. In hardware set your desired IP address of your CP while the first download you will make via ISO TCP by introducing the MAC adress(written on the bottom of your CP usually something like xx-xx-xx-xx). After the first download you can switch to normal TCP/IP and your CP / CPU will have the desired IP adress with which you can access it. Other solution is to use an MPI adapter if you have one. Make your etheret settings and make the first download via MPI. After that switch to TCP /IP and you can access with the IP you have setted.

do you use an new or empfy Simatic Memory Card?

Use an empty card and Reset PLC to Factory Settings and then try again.

Normally a new PLC hast MPI/DP adress 2 and IP Adress 192.168.0.1

What which Operating System?

Ok guys sorry should have been more specific...

its a small IM151-8F cpu with profinet... we dont use MPI or anything else...

so IP only... all my antivirus software is disabled when i do work with siemens as ive

had some issues with the firewalls of them some times... and exactly as someone said above

I cant even find it by using EDIT ETHERNET NODE

my pg/pc interface must be correct if I can connect to any other CPU's which are running?

cause I can connect to all existing ones via IP and profinet no problems... just a brand new

factory cpu i cant see for ....

no luck... with my colleague's laptop it isn't an issue for first commisioning...

I can still connect to existing plc's no problem... im wondering if it isn't a HW

issue of some sorts... I have even bought a USB-Ethernet adapter with no luck either...

just works with existing PLC's, cant connect to new ones...

you say you can connect to other PLC's, can you also found the other PLC's in "Edit Ethernet Nodes" or accessible devices?

There is a little difference between "going online" and "find a PLC"!
