FM350-1 count problem

Hi

I am trying to count the encoder pulses using FM350-1 (6ES73501AH030AE0) module. But the counting is not happening.

I am using a CPU 313C-2DP (on board I/O used as DI/DO) and my FM module is connected in the same rack.

Encoder I am using is a 24V incremental encoder. I have given 24V supply to the encoder and on the FM it is connected to terminal 6 & 8.

In the FM config I have selected.

a) 24V incremental, count dir-nor,

b) Continuous counting and no gate function, 0 to +32 bits

After I load the config, my CPU is healthy and also the FM module has not fault indication. When the encoder turns, the FM module doesnot count.

Just to check whether my encoder is OK, I connected it to the CPU onboard counter and the counting is OK.

I donnot know if I am missing anything or whether the FM module is faulty. Any ideas would help

 where do you read your count? DB?.DBD34? Nothing?

 there is a Led "CR" if I remember correctly, light up and down?

yes I am monitoring dbd34. Db has been created using the UDT from the FM library.

And yes, there is a CR LED on the module, but it never lights up.

I have attached the test project which I am using. The input I2.1 at the SW gate input is of a sensor which gives me my zero position.

Also, I had forgotten to mention earlier, I tried the small configuration which is given in the manual attached in your previous post. Configured the FM as 24V Initiator. In this case my gate contact I0 LED was working fine but the CR LED was not lighting up and neither was my counts changing

First you need to turn on the led CR. I have a configuration "almost" equal to yours, if you want to try follow these steps: in the Hardware configuration I have in the Counter Setting "Multiple" and no "Single", and on the board as gate I have always higher input I2 and not I0, then in your OB100 You have uploaded the following?

T DBx.DBW6

L P#320.0

T DBx.DBD8

L 16

T DBx.DBB12

SET

S DBx.DBX27.0

DB "x" -----> Your DB

My problem is solved.

I tried to retrace my steps back to find out the exact cause of the problem. I could not recreate the problem.

I guess the problem was because of the missing code in OB100. In the object properties of the FM, there was an option to assign the DB in which these parameters would be automatically transferred. And since the same DB was linked to the CNT_CTL1 block, I did not write a separate code. 

So I think the code in OB100 solved my problem.

i faced Same Problem with FM-350-1 module and i follow all steps but the module still showing SF and No reading from module.

after check buffer Diagnose 

Incorrect Parameter in module, internal error, incoming event.

so Please advice?

the black square on the left of the card is in the correct position of your "device" (encoder....)?
