a small query.!

For G120 + PM250 and G120+PM250D combination input reactor is required or not .? Is it advisable to use a input reactor for both the VFD's as Siemens catalouge  is stating that it is not permissible (attachment).

what is the electrical reason behind that .?? is this only for space, energy and cost reduction. what will happen if i use a line reactor for PM250. (travel and hoist application)

VFD part numbers are as below:

1. PM 250 for Aux Hoist: 6SL3225-0BE25-5AA1
2. PM 250 for Main Hoist: 6SL3225-0BE32-2UA0
3. PM 250D for travel drive: 6Sl3525-0PE27-5AA1

Split from G120 with PM250 for Regenerative Applications.

The line side inductor must not be fitted, as the PM250 needs to see the line supply unmodified by the reactor. Regeneration is achieved by feeding power back into the network, and as current usually needs to go ‘downhill’, surplus power can be injected only when the network/supply side is able to accept it unhindered by the added impedance which a choke will provide.

The PM250 operates with a reduced DC link capacitance, and as harmonic distortion is a function of this capacity, distortion is also reduced. Essential for good system planning.
