Furthermore, for forcing: Changes are possible intest mode only; in failsafe or quasi-failsafe mode, they may only be read.

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (303)	Hello, You have two major kinds of PLCs. - standard PLC likea 95U - Failsafe PLC like a 95F Failsafe PLCs have the special feature to have been designed to control dangerous processes (burners, presses, ...)in a safe way, even when some failures occure. These PLCs can master some HW errorslike an output that doesn't fall (shortcut in the wiring, defective output, ...). The 95F is normally executed with 2 CPUs interconnected (to avoid that a CPU error could cause damage) and redundant periphery (to master channel errors). For security reasons you cannot force safe outputs when the PLC runs in safe mode. And if you put the PLC in test mode, you will be able to force, but the whole safety is gone and you operate the process with a risk of damage/accident.
