Hello guys, I'm working at a plant which stand still for 10years. There is no documentation and no backups available. I' only have the step7 program, but without the hardware configuration. I only can check the hardware at the plant. Now I wonder if i'm correct: 1x CPU416-2DP (master) which has a CP443-5 Basic and a IM467 module 2x CPU315-2DP (controls a individual process) 2x CPU314 (controls also their own process) 2x PC's which has a SCADA application The MPI port (X1) of the 416 is connected in a loop and is connected to all the PLC's. The DP port (X3) is connected to remote I/O (ET200M, optic fibre). The CP443-5basic goes to the PC The IM467 goes to frequency drives Some PLC's also have a cp342-5 module. Is this used for communication with SCADA? And were do I need to connect this modules..to which network? I think it should be connected to the CP443-5 from the 416. but i'm not sur the hardware in the factory is connected like this. What do you think? Thank you Best regards |

Hello, Thank you for the answer I enclosed the hardware I've just made. Next file is the hardware configuration like in the plant Last is the FC85,86,87 from the plc program. Uploading is not possible because the battery's are dead. The memory card is probarly removed because the user program isn't there. Oh, the PC's were stolen and I have two new pc's with no hardware or software present, totally blank. Thank you! |

Hello Sabine, Well, in a backup file is a hardware configuration were two S7-300 cpu's are connected through profibus (X3 port). In the CPU rack of the S7-300 is nothing filled in I think this is a very old file because in Netpro, I can't see any ET200 modules. Also there are only two PLC's connected. FC86 and FC87 are empty in my program. Values are written to a DB, but I can't see anything. What do you think about a subnet? I stilldon't know why a CP342 adapter is used? Can you tell me? It's not any helpful information,so sorry about that. |

Hello Sandor-CRX, there is helpful information within your posting. Think you need information about how the CP is working. I found an example how the CP must be configured with an S7-400 as DP-Master. Hope this will be helpful for you to understand the configuration you got DP link between CP 342-5 (slave) and S7-300/400 (master) with STEP 7 V5.1 Best regards Sabine |

Hello Sabine, Thank you for the information but i'm confused now. My CPU 315 has no DP interface. I have to connect the CP adapter to profibus but my cpu doesn't support that. Also the example uses the profibus port from the cpu400. But in my hardware it is connected to remote i/o and not to the cp adapter. And according to you the CP443-5 cannot be connected to the CP-342-5. EDIT: The CP from S7-300 is connected to the Sinec module thus connected to Profibus fromS7-400 |
