Hi, The 810/820 range were the first Siemens CNC to use standard RS232 pin outs. I just buy a cable from any computer shop with 9 pin and 25 pin connectors. |

Hi, I believe the very early 810 controls that had a plc with just one block were current loop but 99% of the 810/820's DO NOT require the V24 to current loop conversion. As to using a USB to RS232 converter I would look on the S5 forum as there appears to be confusion with some people claiming success and others claiming it will not work. Its on my 'to do ' list to try it myself. |
