G120 EtherNet/IP communication (Free Telegram) with Schneider M241 PLC

Hello, experts!

I usually use G120 drives with S7-1200 and S7-1500 into PROFINET, however at this moment I have to integrate a SINAMICS G120 with a Schneider PLC. The controller I'm using just has EtherNet/IP protocol.

I found the EtherNet/IP EDS file under: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/78026217/sinamics-g110m-g120-g120c-g120d-g120p-g120x-g115d-eds-files-for-ethernet-ip-communication?dti=0&lc=en-GE

The EDS file, according to it's description and other additional information I found searching (Google), is just for ODVA AC/DC wich doesn't supports Free Telegram (999) with "EtherNet/IP Profile = [0] SINAMICS".

Reading the G120 manual, I found the information that for Free Telegram I have to configre the G120 as a Generic Device, but when I configure as it, the controller doesn't comunicate.

Hardware information:
- PLC: Schneider M241
- Drive: Control Unit CU250S-2 PN (V4.7 SP10)

PLC engineering tool: Machine Expert V2.0.2.1 (x64)

My drive configuration:

I need to use Free Telegram, because I have a load cell connected to an analog input of the G120.

I found the solution.

1) Go to: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/82843076/sinamics-g-control-of-a-g120-with-allen-bradley-controller-(compact-controllogix-with-rslogix-5000)-via-ethernet-ip?dti=0&lc=en-BR 

2) Download the file "82843076_SINAMICS_G_Drives_V2.0.zip (11,4 MB)"

3) Unzip the downoaded file

4) Install the "Siemens G Drive - T999.eds" into your PLC engineering software

5) Configure IP address and Subnet mask

6) In Starter or Startdrive, configure the IP address, Subnet mask, gateway, adjust the field bus protocol (P2030) for EtherNet/IP [10], keep the EtherNet/Ip profile (P8980) adjusted to SINAMICS [0], then adjust Telegram configuration (P922) to "Free telegram configuration with BICO [999]

7) The last and not less important, the PZD maximum interconnected (r2067[0] and r2067[1]) should show the values: r2067[0]=12, r2067[1]=17. If the r2067[0/1] have different values, then go to the "Communication\Field bus" menu and define each word into "Receive direction" and "Transmit direction", after these definitions, the r2067[0/1] will show 12 and 17 as actual values.

8) Copy RAM to ROM

9) Power off the drive

10) Power on the drive

11) It's done!
