G120 reaction

RobboC Posts: 15 Rating: (2)	Hello, I am having problems with a new G120 that replaces a Micromaster Midi. The CU is a CU240S - 6SL3244-0BA20-1BA0 The new G120 is set up the same way as the old drive and the individual functions Jog and Forward/Reverse all work ok but as a separate function. The old drive used to Jog forward, and then the input for FWD could be applied and the drive would ramp up to the full speed. Same for reverse Jog/REV function But the new drive will Jog ok, and when the input for the FWD command is applied, the drive stops. I suspect that the drive is still in the "Jog" state and misses the triggering edge for the FWD command. There is literally only milliseconds between the Jog being active and the FWD command being issued. I guess my question is, is the firmware "state machine" identical to an older Midimaster? I can't change the digital commands as they are existing from a PLC which is unfortunately a black box to me as I don't have the original program (it is a PLC1 from AB) so I may have to start messing around with the FFB's. FFB's is an easy way to modify operation, but I think the problem may still be your parameterisation. Is the Jog input dropping off before the FWD commans is given? Regards, Graeme

Thanks, C Find your old midimaster manual and see how long it takes to respond to input changes. You can configure the response delay for the g120/cu240s, maybe even to match the prior specs or make them faster to respond. Unfortunately, you cannot change the inputs to be level triggered, so the order the edges are detected is crucial. You may need to install an intermediate relay to slow down one of the signals if all else fails. If you simulate the inputs, can you make the drive operate like it is expected/needed to respond? Once you get the drive to respond as required, you will then be able to determine how to proceed best.
