G120C drives giving errors, unable to safety commission

Hello-

I have a pair of G120C drives I’m trying to commission. Both drives are having the same issue. If I go to parameters—>start safety commissioning, I get the password prompt. I’ll enter 0, and set a new password. A pop-up says the password has been changed but in the info window below I get 3 errors

Parameter p10: drive commissioning parameter filter. Communciation: the PROFIdrive device reports value invalid

Similar messages for parameter 9762 and 9763, PROFIdrive device reports a manufacturer specific error.

 Hi, you don't give much away here.

Please always quote part numbers for a start, and the firmware version your drive possesses.

How are you activating your STO? Terminals or Profisafe telegram? - I would assume Profisafe given he alarms you are seeing.

Have you configured the telegram in the controller (PLC) before activating the safety integrated?

Is the drive commissioning (other than safety) complete, and have you already run the drive from either the Starter control panel or your configured control method - what I'm getting at here is: Is the drive still locked in another commissioning mode, say due to an incorrect parameter setting.

Thanks so much for your reply. I’m sorry I didn’t include more info, I was in bed typing that message after a long day. I’m using drive part numbers 6SL3210-1KE13-2UF2, firmware 4.7.6. Processor is a 1511F in TIA 15.

STO is done over Profinet. I’m using telegram 30 and have the LDrvSafe_SinaGTlg30Control and Status blocks in my safety FB1.

I believe the drive commissioning is complete but I haven’t been able to run the drive at all. I’m to the point where I’d like to run the drives by hand just to be sure I can move my conveyors. It seems like you are onto something about being stuck in another commissioning mode, even when I try to do a safety reset the drive display (IOP-2) shows “saving of settings failed”

Update:

I was “stuck” in a commissioning mode for sure. I went back through the basic commissioning wizard and got the point where I could run the drive normally. I then did the safety commissioning wizard and that worked fine.

Now I’m at the point of acceptance test, where I need to de-select STO. I’m confused on where to de-select it, how is that done?

"Deselect STO" is really just a fancy way of saying pull the emergency stop out or whatever actuator/process selected STO in the first place

Thanks again to all. I had my STO set up wrong and once that was corrected I was able to turn the bit on/off as needed, and do the acceptance test. Thank you!
