Hello,

I have a GE profinet network (controlled by a GE PNC001 controller with some GE PNS001 IO-Devices on the Network. 

I am new to Siemens and do most of my solutions with GE so please be patient with me :)

I have several problems getting this started and I have read every manual and thread available but cannot get anything working.

My Siemens Setup :

PS 307 5A

CPU315-2 PN/DP

CP 343-1 ADVANCED

"U" CONNECTION BETWEEN CPU AND CP ALL MOUNTED ON A RAIL

I want to use the CP343 to read and write information from the cpu memory

1) first thing first - I do not have the SIMATIC_NET_CP library in my Step 7

I have searched for 8! hours on this website to find out nothing useful that can be installed.

and I have tried them all I have Step7 V5.5 SP4 and there were no SIMATIC_NET_CP with PNIO_SEND PNIO_RECV available to install on my S7 program. please hemp me find one

2) as I create the PLC setup I chose the CP to be in a profinet network and remove the IO-controller checkmark in Options>PROFINET Tab.

are there any other configurations I am  missing to configure the CP+CPU as an IO device on my existing network?

3) where do I get a GSD file? there is no option to create one as the CPU does nor have the I-Device option, and in the available manuals this in the Only way it is descried.

I have attached some screen shots.(cant hurt)

Just wanted to add that I just need to read some memory points in the CPU via profinet..

the use of CP-343 is just an assumption I made as it sais it can be used as a profinet device. The cpu seems to have this option aswell..?

above is a link for GSD files. I have tested and I can import it to GE successfully so I am guessing this part is done. 

If you know of different GSD to use please comment..

just to remove all doubt, the above installation (simatic_net_cp library s7-v5.4+) does not work on my V5.5 S7 !
