get a real out of an RTD input card on a S7-120

Jeff23spl Advanced Member Joined: 2/6/2012 Last visit: 12/19/2024 Posts: 46 Rating: (1)	Hello I have worked with s7-200 and 300RTD module and i convert the AIW value to an integer and then to a real to divide by 10 to get the real temperature value and this worked pretty well for me This time with the 1200, i try to do the same but the input get automatiquely setas a word for the data type...IWx = word So i can't find the correct instruction for the type ''word'' to be converted: Move doesn't work as i need a word value at the output Convert doesn't have ''word'' choice for input Xscale need a real The only way i figured it out is to force the IW data type to be an integer instead of a word and i can convert it but as i don't have the plc yet, i wonder if it will work?... Is there another way to get a real out of an RTD input card on a S7-1200 S7-1215 1AG31 with 231-5PD30 and 231 5PF30 Tia V11 SP2

Is there another way to get a real out of an RTD input card on a S7-1200 S7-1215 1AG31 with 231-5PD30 and 231 5PF30 Tia V11 SP2 I use TC temperature input modules on S7-1200 systems all the time and the data comes in as the temperature x 10 in whatever units configured for the input. I believe the RTD module does the same. When you first use your IW### for the temperature input and create your tag, set it to INT. To use the value as real, just divide it by 10.0 in a DIV block in LAD. However, you may find leaving the value as an INT and display the implied decimal works best as it only uses 2 bytes and is the exact value detected by the rtd module (well, rounded to 1 implied decimal anyway). Post your results!
