Can't find the exact answer I need...

I have a S7400 CPU which should communicate with a S71500. Communication is done through Industrial Ethernet via Get/Put.

I'm aware that only one side has to be configured for Get/Put. In this case the S71500 will do that (active connection).

Do I still need to configure something on the S7400 side? Do I need to configure NetPro to use an unspecified s7 connection?

 If you configure on th s71500 side then you need to configure a connection with the unknown cpu ad feed the ip address , slot and rack number properly and configure a DB on both the CPu then I am sure you will get the desired result, And you need not to config on both the CPU

Also take care that in 1500 you need to check the option to allow access to GET/PUT communication available in CPU properties

only maybe general info, look also to S7-S7 communication manual for sure, simply generaly (due HW cfg on both CPUs) some HW components (CP card, CPU port) can't act as Client or Server in some connection situations so check this in mentioned manual. Of course you don't need configure both sides as communication service, only on Client it include needed instructions (GET/PUT, ...) and on Server needed DB/Memory structure only where data are stored.

If both PLC under TIA portal and Profinet communication,

My suggestion would be do I device communication. You don't have to  write any communication blocks. 

If not then , configure the Get/Put instruction under S71500 PLC and do setting allow access for Get-Put/OPC/HMI under Property of CPU "Protection"

Create the same Data block  number at S7 400 Side . Use the absolute DB at S7 1500 PLC.

It was really easy to setup. On the 400 side, I didn't have to do anything, except the DB must have the same number on both sides.

You can even use different DB numbers,

Just in that case take care with the DB numbers that we provide to the GET and PUT block

Yeah correct,

The main problem was that they did not set rack+slot of my 400CPU.
