GET/PUT issues with S7-1200 programming using SCL

kunjila-kobasa Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hiya all! I'm trying to connect S7-300 and S7-1200 so they can exchange data between them! I've found that using GET/PUT instructions are the simplest solution. I decided to use GET/PUT instructions within S7-1200 CPU to read/write from/to S7-1200. The problem for me is using those functions with SCL. When I enter GET or PUT and after a instance DB is automatically created under configuration/connection parameter I can't select partner (it gives me a option but nothing happens after I select it). The funny thing is when I try the same thing with block created with LAD everything seems fine! I also tried using MrPaiva's programming example with 3 1200s /tf/WW/en/Posts/68281 but I get the same result. I can easily configure PUT/GET partner station with the block created in LAD and same problem with SCL So, after all I'm pretty sure it is TIA portal bug, but it would be nice from one of you experts to verify this! :)

kunjila-kobasa Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	I know to call a function using SCL, I'm using SCL all the time. The point is the same function is working normally with LAD and has issues with SCL. You can try opening sample project which I gave link to create new FC in SCL and try to use PUT/GET and you'll see what I mean

Can you please try it for yourself My current project is using GET/PUT with the s7 connection already configured, so when I added the get block into an scl FB, it acted properly. When I did the same in lad FB, it likewise acted properly. When I click on the diagnostic icon in the LAD GET block, it takes me online and helps me see I already had my s7 connection created. If you think it is buggy and find no workaround, send in a Support Request. If you find it is easy to work-around, making a note online how you worked around inconsistent behavior, that saves us all time by your sharing.

salrandazzo Posts: 57 Rating: (8)	I have to confirm that I have the same problem. I wrote a whole program using SCL on a single PLC. Now I need to use more PLCs and to exchange data between them. I started with a simple PUT from a PLC to another one. The network configuration what already done and downloaded on both PLCs. I wrote the simple SCL code to start a PUT, and I got error and status = 1 that means "communication problems, check the cable or the connection configuration". I googled for this problem, then I found this topic, I deleted the SCL code and wrote it using KOP: BINGO! Now it works. I'm not so happy about being forced to use KOP instead of SCL for this part of program. But at least it works.
