Get rid of a SF caused by Event ID: 16#2522

yy1 Gold Member Joined: 3/24/2009 Last visit: 1/5/2023 Posts: 535 Rating: (110)	Dear Elena, I see two ways to find the problem: First way is to check all accesses to DBX25.x in your program. But I know that this is very hard in large programs, so I'd suggest to use the second way: Temporary delete the OB121 from your CPU, so that it goes to STOP (I assume, that this program is not in a productiv plant yet - if I'm wrong, you should copy it to PLCSIM). When you got the STOP you can go the the fault location via the block stack. Then you have to check, -) if the accessed DB exists on the CPU, -) if it is long enough and -) if you access the right DB (especially if you use indirect DB-access). Dont't forget to re-download the OB121 after fixing the error(s). Best regards, yy1

Thanks a lot...Hope this would help me to spot a similar issue... i would like to find...what exactly would cause this problem... this "Area length error" keeps appearing for me when the program is running fine. will the Processor go to STOP FAULT. if this keeps accumulating. At times it went to STOP FAULT and i predicted a possible cause and fixed it. where im using indirect addressing to a pointer where the program happen to calculate a wrong DBD number at some point. when i open a DB and inside a loop. it caused Stop Fault with Scan time exceed. Now after fixing it, Stop Fault doesnt occur again. But, Area length error keeps coming.. Will the above said method of deleting OB121 will help me to solve the issue. its a machine in production. So, i just wanto be sure before asking for it. Pls suggest. Pls refer to attached Diagnostics Buffer txt. Attachment Diagnose.txt (406 Downloads)
