I have attached the sample program here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Timeout error . RKBIS Gold Member Joined: 2/20/2014 Last visit: 3/7/2025 Posts: 405 Rating: (38)	Hi, Attached is the photo of the VSD that is being used now & the wiring (RS 485) therefore using mode "0". Besides, termination resistor also was used on both ends (120 ohm resistor at the VSD end & 220ohm ohm resistor at PLC COM module). Also tried with another cable (without resistor on both ends (but still getting error 16#80C8). Already check the baud rate, parity but still getting the same error code. How can overcome this? ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 3/15/2025 Posts: 34890 Rating: (4361)	Did you measure the resistor (in the photo on the inverter)? According to the color code table, it does not have 120 ohms but 1.2 kOhm with 5% tolerance.

Thanks for highlighting this (but would like to know if it is a must to use resistor in this case). I also have tried without using resistor on both ends.

About the value of the resistors, there is no uniform statement. Values of 120 ohms, 220 ohms or 330 ohms apply. Some companies state that the value depends on the cable length. Other companies say it depends on the quality of the line. Incorrect or missing resistors influence the telegram and can cause errors in the telegrams until total failure.

The specified slave did not respond in the specified time. Please check the baud rate, parity and wiring of the slave device. This error is only reported after any configured retries have been attempted.
