Getting integer DB Number from DB_BLOCK input variable

SILOGIC Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Good afternoon, There is anyway in KOP or AWL (not SCL or other...) of getting the integer number that represent a DB_BLOCK input variable in a FB or FC? For example, DB90, "DB_SOURCE", In this case, as input in the FB i shoulduse "DB_SOURCE" as the DB_BLOCK input variable, and inside the FB i want to get the number (90 in this case). I realize that I can solve it easily using and integer as input variable instead a DB_BLOCK, but if what I'm asking is possible, I would like to know. Lets say there is aninput parameter "DBno" of data type BLOCK_DB. In function: L P##DBno LAR1 L W [AR1,P#0.0] In function block: L P##DBno LAR1 AR2 +AR1 L DIW [AR1,P#0.0] Regards Sydney

SILOGIC Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Denilson, I´ve used the solutions proposed previously in the forumand thoseworked fine for me. Previously to that, I´ve tried your suggestion, and it did not work. What I tried was: I created an FB, where an input variablewas declared as DB_BLOCK. When the FB is called and in thedeclarationthis input is filled, it takes the simbolic name of the DB ("DB_DATA" for example, or the DB number in the form of DBXX (DB28 for instance), depending wich view you have enabled (symbol or address). So,inside the FB, if you want to know which number of DB are youusing, you have to use one of the two methods previously proposed. The DB_BLOCK is notan integer number, or at least the FB doesn´t let you process it in that way. If you try, inside the FB, to movethe DB_BLOCKto an integer value,, it won´t work. However, here is some explanation: Despite this variable is 16 bits, it is not taked as elementary data type (move instruction, for example). So you can't address it simbolicaly in your normal usage.
