I am currently trying to log to an SQL database any changes the user makes in the parameters of the cell.

The values can be changed via IOFIELDS which are linked to a determined tag, and then send to the plc to regulate the proccess. I use a vb script that is triggered when the user makes any change in the parameter. I can get everything I need except the name of the parameter (smart tag).

I have looked but it seems there is no method whatsoever to get a smarttag's name using its object (HmiRuntime.SmartTags("DataBaseLogTest"), only the value . I have seen some workarounds in c-script, but I am working with WinCC advanced therefore I do not have the possibility to make one.

Can anyone lend a hand in this? (TIA PORTAL V14)

Yeah, I figured that out, but thanks for the confirmation anyway.

If anyone is interested I kinda achieved what I wanted, although I could not get the name from the tag directly from the SmartTags Object, I did manage to make it work by passing the name of the Tag I wanted to log by value to the subroutine in the vb script.

So maybe it is not as universal and fancy as I intended it to be but it works.

And then I use the function in the input IOField of the parameter to log. As for the function parameters I pass  directly the name of the Tag I am logging int the database via the IOField (as it can be seen in the picture below, in this case the Tag name is DatabaseLogTest, it must correspond with the tag you want to log).
